SlashGrid: transparent grid access to HTTP(S) serversThe SlashGrid Wiki page has information about the current version of SlashGrid, which became part of the main GridSite distribution in version 1.3.0. In short, SlashGrid makes https://www.example.com/dir/file.txt available as /grid/https/www.example.com/dir/file.txt - and uses your X.509 Proxy Certificate and VOMS credentials when reading/writing to remote files. (A previous version of SlashGrid, based on the coda kernel module, was developed during 2002/2003 with the principal aim of providing sandboxes for running jobs. The current version is a total rewrite, and aims to provide transparent, secured access to bulk storage on neighbouring machines in storage farms.)
